A client had all of their VMWare View thin clients setup to use kiosk mode. Now they need to set it so that they are presented with a windows login prompt.
Disabling SSO should give you your desired result. Your kiosk portion will get you through the broker and the assigned VM. With SSO disabled it should fail at the Windows login. Then the user will need to enter their username and password for the domain.
Add at least the vdm_agent.vdm adminitrative template (from Program Files\VMware\VMware View\Server\extras\GroupPolicyFiles) in the GPM Editor. That’ll give you the VMware View Agent Configuration, and under that you can find Agent Configuration, and the AllowSingleSignon setting, which can be Disabled.
Settings I had to set were:
Group Policy – View Agent ADM
- ConnectionTicketTimeout – Disable
- AllowSingleSignon – Disable
Group Policy – Local Security Policy
- Interactive logon: Do not display last user name – Enable
- (Optional) Interactive logon: Do not require CTRL+ALT+DEL – Enable
View Agent ADM can be found in the install directory of the connection server.
Local Security Policy path is: Computer Configuration>Windows Settings>Security Settings>Local Policies>Security Options
